What is TWRToday.com?
TWRToday simply stands for 'The World Renaissance Today'. You could view us as an online magazine, but much more dynamic. This website is article driven therefore you will see many articles commenting on any news story and issues around the world. Our articles/news stories are viewed from a different perspective from the status quo. You will see some of our articles with strong African influences as most of our news stories are viewed from an African perspective. At the same time TWRToday embodies its name and aim to show current affairs and events around the world exactly how they are and aims to get a world view on world news. We are aiming to put freethinkers together to share their thoughts on current issues that affect our everyday lives. We encourage dialogue so if you have a news story or topic in mind about any issue then you could write it an article or essay form and send it in to us. We will review it and post it if within our ethos.
Our Ethos
As humans we get influenced in our lives by almost everything we see and/or hear and our experiences. People such as our parents and friends also influence us. In this day and age the media is far reaching and more influential than ever before and it is obvious that this makes it easier for us as people to get subjective and in many cases manipulated to think a certain way. All mediums that carry information from; newspapers to the radio, to television, as well as the Internet and books carry vast amount of information. In most cases we will obliviously get the information, take what we want from it and based on how influenced or gullible we are, we sometimes run with it!(the information we get). We are at a point where it is getting more and more difficult for us to think for ourselves due to all these mediums of information, remember we are in the information age? We will now believe another persons opinion and adapt it, forgetting we have opinions ourselves. We constantly let people dictate our thought patterns as if we are machines and must be programmed in what to think and do. Its time for us to start thinking for ourselves.
What we do
We will often analyse and critically assess the news, sports, music and entertainment, current events or even history. Our aim is to make a change and a difference around the world on how current affairs are perceived. TWRToday.com is made up of a few young people who deal with the various sections of this site, check out the Profile page to view members of TWRToday. We welcome everyone so just browse our site and enjoy! You can email us and tell us what you think so TWRToday can grow and improve.

We aim to give you news, entertainment and sports, how we see it, from our angle. You may not agree with how we put our news and articles together, however we encourage debates and discussions so please let us know your opinions/send in your comments. On this site you will get the chance to share your views on our topics. You can find out the end of every article you can add in your comments. Here at TWRToday.com we are strongly against the use of violence. We will not promote any mention or use of violence carelessly; as a matter of fact we will denounce all acts of violence in any form. However what we will do is highlight this epidemic of violence around the world and discuss the root of the problems.

We know that especially in the African/black community everyone is likely to have different religions/ideologies etc. We must inform you that this site is NOT about religion. We are aware and respect that most people have their own beliefs, still the most important thing is that we are all people and believe that we should keep our faiths personal between us and our deities. This site is not about a battle of religions as we believe we have more things in common than what differentiates us so we encourage each other to focus more on this fact while respecting each other.
