Tafarre's Diary Issue - 4
First the 100 billion dollar help from the US government to stabilize lending in the US, Lehman bros and how it went down. You may wonder what does this have to do with me?, even here in London? Well a former colleague of a family member got a job at Lehman brothers and was meant to start tomorrow (Monday 22/09/08) As you know last week the company west bust, now the once happy person does not have a job to go to. Another thing I've been getting some responses for my article about me agreeing with Lee Jasper to have black African oriented schools. Many think it is segregation on the flip side, which is a good point, which we all don't need.On the other hand what we don't need is this current school system failing our children year out and we as a community accept it as norm without saying or doing anything until their own child gets expelled from school, get bad grades or end up in a gang, which I now realise is like a way of life for some of our teenagers. Just today I spoke to a 'younger' who told me he's in a gang but 'they don't cause trouble but if anyone mess with them they'll handle it' and he can get 'straps' easily but he doesn't want to get it coz its dangerous. This same 'younger' has been kicked out of school coz maybe they don't know how to deal with a kid like him? He comes from a decent, strict family. He's not even 16! To me he just wants to feel like he's apart of soemthing important so he joins a 'gang'. Another thing I'm reading this book called 'The State of Africa' by Martin Meredith. If you ever wondered about Africa and want to know about events that inspired and encouraged events then go get it!...
