Im a guy that loves travelling, I have been to a few places in Europe and my preconceptions of Sweden were one of a media influenced angle.
I thought we were going to arrive in Snow and see loads of blond people with blue eye's (Yes how ignorant of someone who claims to be open minded, well I am human after all).
The flight was 2 hours long, a minor by the time we complained that Ryan air charged £1.25 for a Twix we were there. We landed in a small airport in Stockholm and the sun was blazing, instant surprise we were happy already.
The airport was small but they were much organised, we were checked in, in less than 20 minutes and ready to go .The currency was similar to the UK in that it was quite expensive even though they use Corners and not the Euro.
Our journey from the airport to the place we were staying was a pleasant one green fields and a clean environment. It was peaceful throughout our stay.
I had noticed that the Swedish people care about their country and try their best to preserve the environment. They didn't just use brown and white bread and had a large variety of bread.
They also had a designated time that shops serving alcohol were open, this I found very interesting as it cut down crime and again helped with environmental issues that other European countries have.
The main shopping centre reminded me of Bromley and again was very clean the Swedish people we very welcoming and the main city of Stockholm was very multicultural.
I would recommend a visit and I will be going again.
