Overt Racism Alive and Well

Just when many of you start to think that overt racism has diminished to covert racism we still get racist abuse from stupid folks who some how think they can judge someone based on their skin tone and think its justifiable. We came a long way, yet some people are stuck in the slavery days with ignorance on end. Today you will learn of a real life story that took place in London just a few days ago. Tasha will tell you her experience.

Well it was the same old boring Sunday, with little customers and nothing to do, so I decided to be productive with my time and read a book. The book was great and stole a lot of my attention; unfortunately not enough attention was given to a particular middle aged customer which caused a disturbing reaction which was;

After I finished serving her she whispered to her 'goth looking' daughter then turned and said 'that's what you get from STUPID BLACK BITCHES' to which I replied 'yeah stupid black bitches read books!' I cant even put into words how furious I was, I thought a 'real' stupid black bitch will remember your face! Then I thought to myself is she even worth it?In reality that's what we're living in (a racist society), but I did not expect that living in a 'multi- racial society'. Then when people hear black folks go on about this, others will be like 'let it pass', 'let it go'. The thing is they are the ones not letting it go. I mean they should for their own good let go of the past and realise that black folks are not inferior and they should get it through their thick heads, let it go. I'm not the one to use someones race to judge them however that woman really shows how there are some ignorant pigs out there (sad to say).

Consider my Options: I Could Have:

A) Given her a slap in her face there and then get arrested for assault,
B) Left my job and have a reduced income,
C) Given her a piece of my mind with no hold backs, but that would cause me to lose my job (if she complained), or live up to her stereotype black expectations.
D) Lastly pay no attention and go about my business.


What Would You do?

Walking away could show her that I am a much bigger person than her which is great considering that I'm probably half her age (I'm a teenager, she looks 46) but I couldn't help but think that if I left it she may think she can go around racially slandering other people and get away with it. Like how it used to be not too long ago in and even post slavery (now), 'yes, master, how can I serve you master, I know master that I'm a stupid black bitch'! I also felt that there was no point reporting her to anyone because nothing would be done, which is how I'm sure black people who has been racially assaulted felt, how many rape cases have been reported? How many abh's/gbh's have been reported? Do you think that these figures are averagely the same compared to the actual offence committed? Black people probably felt no need to report any racial crime because the police were in no doubt racists themselves. (I'm sure you've heard how the police commisioner admitted that there is insitutional racism in the police force (not that we didn't already know this hundreds upon hundreds of black folks killed by police in custody and al of them got away with those murders).

I must say we as a people sometimes give these ignorant racist shit-heads cause to think appallingly about our people? Many a times I do believe that our people let us down by doing stupid things. For example, once I was at a restaurant enjoying dinner when two black boys sat down opposite us. Who knew two boys from 'the ends' would be dining with each other? Nevertheless it's not fair to judge or have stereotypes so I thought nothing. It turned out those two boys ate a whole load of food then ran off with their bellies filled. All I was thinking was... it just had to be the black boys. My point is that we should not give anyone any excuse to be abusing us as you know racists pigs only need an excuse to continue their barbaric behaviour that they hold dear to their hearts.

I believe that ignorance is passed on to their offsprings, and these are the real victims. A girl can just repeat what her mother taught her about different cultures and the daughter will bear the consequences. Still the mother who taught her daughter this way of thinking would probably still uphold her beliefs and accuse us as a race for committing such offences (if an offended black person assaulted her daughter for racist comments). So would those actions be justified because we were provoked racially? Would I be just the same as her if I turned round and called her; white trash/cracker/devil. Isn't this just as bad? Even though these words are too nice for her, her behaviour wasn't justified and I presume she had hatred for people of African decent from the start?

All I can say is people of colour/African people don't succumb to the level or certain people's behaviour, just continue to uplift your selves as you know racists strive on the dehumanisation and demonisation of African people or people of colour. therefore do not let them stand in your way or stop you from living a content and successful life. People of other colours and cultures who aren't racist continue your ways of life and teach those racists a thing or two. I have a dream.
