According to a UN study in Kenyan tourists resorts many teenage girls from 12-18 are selling their bodies. This is not really a shock when I heard the story as I know poverty will lead people to do almost anything. However after saying this I must ask what about morality? Secondly these Kenyan tourist resorts are 'pimping' these young girls and this must be looked into. Someone needs to be in Prison right now. Whoever is in charge needs to be prosecuted. I'm sure enough evidence can be found. According to the (UN Children's Fund) UNICEF 15,000 girls engage in casual sex for money and apparently 3000 girls and boys sell their bodies fulltime. Prostitution in full effect it seems as we see people from various European countries and others go to Kenya for holidays. What also did not surprise me in the report was researchers found out that more than half the tourists who go to Kenya for sex in the resorts of Malindi, Mombasa and Kilifi are Europeans. I believe if something is not done soon enough then Kenya could be the new Thailand.
The authorities if there is any in the East African country will need to put a stop to this ASAP as the European sex tourists won't. It seems to me that this child sex situation in Kenya is immensely growing and other poverty ridden African states are harbouring these perverts and nothing is being done about it. This goes to show what money can do. The fact is these sometimes innocent children as young as 12 wouldn't have to succumb to doing such things if they were stable and their family was content. The parents also have a lot to answer as I believe no matter your situation one shouldn't allow their children do such things as if they are worth ( a few £'s or $'s). I hope AIDS prove to be a deterrent to these European perverts as this AIDS thing could indeed backfire but that's another topic for another article. Just needed to tell you of the issues that Africans face everyday due to poverty amongst other factors they have no control.
