World AIDS Day

Once again its world aids day, hope we could be aware of this throughout the year instead of just one day. Well this is a start so let's just see what we can learn about this thing that's killing people like flies and there's nothing we can do about it at the moment to cure it once and for all . HIV is a virus that turns into AIDS after a while. Before I go any further I will break down the virus and the disease in detail because I'm sure many people love to say AIDS and HIV and do not even know what it means.Now HIV is short for human immunodeficiency virus while AIDS is short for Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome.

This disease is one that attacks the body's only defence, the immune system. For example, you may have a cold or flu then your immune system will fight against it until you feel better but the common cold can never be cured which is another bloody article. Now if your immune system is weak then you might take longer to get over certain illnesses. Well that is just my explanation of the virus and the disease. So now that's out the way we can move onto something else we did not know.

There are roughly 40 million people living with HIV according to statistics. During this year (2006) there were 4.3 million new HIV carriers . Many who contracted the disease did this before they were 25 and get killed by full blown aids by 35. Most people who are living with the disease are from the 'third world', you know countries where the dark skinned people reside mostly. However after saying that, HIV is a threat to everyone on planet earth and no one is exempt from it. Some people are just more vulnerable to it than others.

Eastern Europe has its own problems with HIV and they have a rising rate of people getting infected with it. The worrying thing for people residing in Western Europe is that the Eastern Europeans are coming to Europe mainly Britain like a swarm of bees due to European union etc. Therefore all you men (esp some black brothers I know very well) out there who see this as an opportunity to get your legs over please look at this as an opportunity to use more condoms or control yourself around certain people.

I heard that HIV could be in a person's system without them knowing for 5 years! Maybe that is a myth or maybe it isn't. Could you be living with it? Are you scared to take a HIV or AIDS test? Have you had unprotected sex with a stranger or some loose cannon of a human being? I suggest you go and get yourself checked... if you're not sure.

Why Africa?

I noticed that like every bad thing to happen to the human race black folks take the brunt of it and HIV/AIDS is no different. I really cannot fathom that at all. Well they once said AIDS came from the green monkey but then many said that it is a man made disease for population control. What do you think?

Are Africans more promiscuous?

The fact that Africa has the most infected people of HIV/AIDS will give the impression that African people are the most promiscuous on earth but I beg to differ. I mean I see people going to Spanish and Greek Islands such as Ibiza to go and have a good time and unprotected sex and all sorts are all too common yet I don't see or hear of an epidemic in Europe! Spring break in the USA, same scenario, maybe soon but I hope not for humanity's sake. Indeed this could happen if they don't sort out Africa's poverty problem as Black/Africans are risking their lives in boats to reach Europe via Spain to reach Europe (the promise land) and we know too well that black men are hot property for ladies worldwide. Could these refugees be carrying the disease? All I can say is everything just goes full circle.

With all this promiscuity worldwide and the disease is only targeting third world people, mainly black people then I'm adamant that there must be other ways of contracting this bastard of a disease, which over 2.3 million children are currently living with. Apart from unprotected sexual relations and blood transfusion mistakes I'm sure that there must be other ways how people can catch HIV. I don't know but that's just my opinion as it doesn't make sense how one set of people are catching aids more than others. Is AIDS prejudiced?

Don't end up with HIV/AIDS THINK before you act

To protect yourself from this killer disease I advise people including myself to take all the necessary precautions. My advice is to please use condoms if you are going to sleep around. No matter how uncomfortable or unreal it might feel, it is the safest way so far. Therefore if you want to live a wild lifestyle, wear condoms, no arguments. If not then please go celibate, I mean if you are an unmarried Christian or whatever religion just be true to your faith or your God and stay away from sex. Better yet find someone of the opposite sex trustworthy and settle down with them, make life together,have many children and live happily ever after. Treat each other with respect and try not to stray over the fence because you think the grass is greener. I'm saying all this but who am I to be advising you of what to do? I'm just a simple guy. I'm sure what I am saying is valid so if you want to catch the disease do the exact opposite of what I just said.
