Rappers are scared of the Hip-Hop police

High profile rappers are making huge sums of money and can get their hands on anything such as guns and money etc. Some rappers are the targets of thieves who would want to rob them of cash and or their jewellery amongst other items.

Money making rappers are now worried about a new dogma that they think is preying on them. They are called the 'Hip Hop Police'. Instead of protecting the rappers from getting robbed or murdered, these police treat rappers as prime suspects hoping to catch them with guns and drugs.

Taking illegal guns and drugs off the streets is only right as that is the job of the police, however I hear some dirty police tactics used to get rappers in jail. Rapper Prodigy of the duo Mobb Deep will serve a 3 and a half year jail term for illegal gun possession a hip hop police was assigned to him. Rapper T.I. is facing a long jail sentence if convicted of trying to buy automatic weapons and silencers illegally. It was said that the police and the arms dealer set up T.I. but let's just see how this one turns out. Rapper Prodigy said in an interview that the police wanted him to plant guns and drugs in 50 cents car and they would let him free but he refuses so he took it to court and was forced to accept a 3.5 year jail sentence in a plea bargain as he was facing 15 years! Do you think rappers are becoming too influential and there is a plot to get all the influential ones behind bars?

Let's be honest, these rappers have some sadistic rhymes in their songs such as killing 'niggas', killing this killing that, which could be contributing to what's happening on the streets. I say they need to be extra careful when going about their business as they are prime targets especially as they are black. There is a term called racial profiling which makes it all too easy for police to stop and search certain ethnic groups. My previous statement is all sweet and politically correct however, who is going protect these rappers from getting robbed or even killed? The Hip Hop police?

As rappers and sports stars are likely to be robbed, they will definitely carry weapons to protect themselves or even have friends with weapons who often travel with them. This is a catch 22 situation as the hip hop police are not protecting them so who will? These rappers will not have bodyguards with them every second of the day so they will want to feel some sense of security when they are by themselves. At the same time all is fair in love and war as it is those same rappers talking about killing and robbing people in their songs now they are crying racism? Furthermore the flip side of that street life criminal lifestyle is going to jail so what's the problem? It is about time that rappers wake up and realise that when they get enough money to 'leave the hood' they should leave that lifestyle behind as they now have an opportunity to move on to bigger and better things. Leave that lifestyle alone and rap about the life you are living now. Let someone else rap about that 'hood' lifestyle as you obviously are not living it anymore.

To sum it up first and foremost I believe rappers should play their part and take responsibility in their lyrics and lifestyle IF they do not want to be targeted by the 'Hip Hop police'. They could be real 'gangstas' or revolutionaries like rap group 'Dead Prez' or 'Immortal Technique' who would expect that sort of behaviour from the police so will know their rights in what and what not to do. We all know that the police can be corrupt already so rappers shouldn't even be expecting any favours from them.
