What's Going on in Kenya?

I've heard some horrific stories of how people are being maimed and killed in Kenya since the results of a controversial election. It was reported that the leader of the opposition (Mr Odinga) stated that he was robbed of a victory as the election was flawed. Since the winner (Mr Kibaki) was sworn in there has been violence all over the country which left an estimated 250 dead.

Even if the election was rigged, I still cannot fathom why people would go around murdering others because their political party did not win an election. I see no logical reason for the opposition to take matters in their own hands and start killing innocent people for supporting the sworn in government. What could lead such a people to set a church filled with people alight, killing and injuring those dare to help? This is how some news media reported the story and I am just making my views known if this is actually what happened. I saw the news story covered on TV and it looked so similar to Somalia, Sudan or the Congo. Politics is destroying community relations in third world countries which are often the poorest democracies/ poorest countries in the world.

Elections are very important in the running of any country and if these are not run properly then obviously there will be problems. Still, I'm adamant that this did not warrant all these people's lives. Is this going to make things better? No you idiots!!! Sometimes I get frustrated when some of us cannot get to see the bigger picture. Even those in a position to help and lead their people often end up hurting their own due to their massive egos. From the outside looking in I can only speculate that someone somewhere ordered these killings. This is just my take on it, I might be wrong. This is completely unreasonable and those involved are utterly senseless, letting a few people dictate their emotions. In fact I wouldn't be surprised if some supporters of these political parties got paid or promised money in return for their votes and the sabotage of the other party.

The quest for power to rule over a people is great. However, following a system that was put in place by their colonial masters will never work in my opinion. These African countries are in turmoil and will need to come up with something else, something different from what is available now, something new.

Some of us just love the sound of using the words 'corruption' and African governments in the same sentence. However we do not even know the reasons for this. There are obviously problems with how some puppet governments and how some elections are fixed on behalf of external forces. Forces who's best interests are not in the well being of these African countries. It boils down to the resources these countries have and who will have control over them. Many do not see this. However I used my own logical critical analysis to try and understand how the richest countries in the world in natural resources are the poorest economically, with destabilisation and famine commonplace. Obviously this doesn't or shouldn't make sense! We are now seeing the same thing happening in the Middle East in particular Iraq where a civil war is as result of a plan to control their natural resource (oil). Democracy will come and save the day in Iraq then those with the strings can do what they want with the oil or other natural resource. All these events are related in my opinion; divide the people, distract them from what is important, so you can be free to do what you want.

This is not a 'blame them' game as people should be wise enough to know for themselves what time it is. If you can't control your own house then someone will be called in to calm things down. Politically the African people, government must stand up and take responsibility for their own countries and resources. At the same time not relying on any external force to tell them how to run their own country as all that is happening now is as a result of what I mentioned earlier. Protocols and principles should be drawn up and set in place to prevent these massacres in the future.

We are moving into a time where a 'chosen few' want to control the world and how it is run. To combat this I believe the poorer countries will have to get their own houses (countries) in order to prevent more terrible massacres in the future. Life is precious and we must treat it as such. The way things are going now just shows me that a renaissance is needed.
